Mount Silverspear

Mount Silverspear ‘Karag Agrilwutraz’ was the second largest dwarf mine in the World’s Edge Mountains. Like the dwarves of Mount Gunbad, the population of Silverspear didn’t fight in the War of Vengeance with the elves. Following the War of Vengeance the beleaguered dwarves, found little respite when pervasive geological activity generated extensive volcanic activity throughout the World’s Edge Mountains, and rent the Underway – isolating many dwarfholds. From the fissures erupted numerous hordes of orcs and goblins, thus began the Goblin Wars. The initial onslaught bypassed Mount Silverspear, proceeding to the wealthier mines of Mount Gunbad. The dwarves of Silverspear immediately commenced strengthening the defenses, and built watchtowers to warn them of the inevitable approach of the orc and goblin hordes. The assault came soon enough…

Reluctantly the dwarves abandoned their silver lode, and the survivors fought their way west along the Silver Road ‘Agrildrin’ to the relative safety of Karaz–a–Karak. The triumphant orcs and goblins mended the ruined defenses of Silverspear, settled in, and renamed it Mount Grimfang – in honor of their Orc Warboss. The following year the greenskins easily repulsed a dwarf expedition, and the eastern slopes of the World’s Edge Mountains have remained within their sphere ever since…
